You're right, I think I'm donna do like this myself from now on too
Do you read every draw scrupulously, with Q rounds and early rounds and all? I find it so tiring
or do you just take a quick look at who qualified and who reached the later stages and that's it? But I have concentration problems too, and I guess I'm way too obsessional with being aware of everything, that may account for lotsa things.
First, in the weeks before an ITF tournament, I'll look at who's on the entry list. If no one I follow is there, I ignore that tournament completely.
For the other tournaments, I do look at both qualifying and the main draw, but won't post about qualifying for 10Ks, because there's too many 10ks. The only exceptions are if there's a special player I'm following, or someone who's come back from a long lay-off and their ranking has dropped.
For 25Ks and above, I will post about those I follow who've qualified, and follow them through the main tournament.
Sometimes it's nice when all the players I follow from a tournament lose early, then I just stop following the tournament!
For the WTA tournaments, I'll post about all the players I follow, whether they are in qualies or in the main draw.
If I'm not busy and in a good mood, this all can be exciting. If I'm busy or in a bad mood, this can all be a big chore, even with the shortcuts.
It's great though, when you get to know about a player before they break into the big leagues-- like Petra Kvitova, Mona Barthel, Annika Beck, the Pliskovas.
But for those players, there are also many disappointments, that I question sometimes following all these players.
Next week, there are 16 ITF tournaments, and the week after, 14! Maybe I'll quit altogether in May
Yeah, true that there are very few Russians posting in the Russian subforum. Mayve it's because most don't feel comfortable enough with their English?
Or maybe it's the fact that they have their own Russian WTA forum (wtatour.ru) and that they don't feel the need to come here
Yeah, you're right, there is the Russian-language forum! That probably explains it.
Still there are members like MKhromechev, Yuri Bot and ILoveCats who are regulars in the Challenger thread, but don't post here.
