Time to have a thread for the cute Vika! :D

She's a promising 16 yo Junior. She was born in 1995 (Aug 3), she's Russian, so, but was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She's right-handed with a double-handed backhand.
She started playing tennis at 8. She's currently ranked #23 in juniors (career high: #16) and #505 in seniors. Her best results on pro circuit for the moment are: winning 2 10K (Portschach and B Waltersdorf) + QF in 50K Saransk, where she defeated qualified, beat Buyukakcay in 2 sets most notably, and lost to (6)Veronika Kapshay 2-6 4-6.
She hasn't played any more tournament on pro circuit this year. She reached Eddie Herr's final last year, losing to Putintseva 3-6 6-7(4). She reached QF (partnering Soregi) in doubles. Then she lost in R1 at the Orange Bowl against Elizaveta Ianchuk 4-6 3-6. But she won the title in doubles, partnering Ganna Poznikhirenko.

According to her profile on the ITF website, her hobbies are football, computers, games, books & cinema, and her favourite players are Robin Soderling and Samantha Stosur.

Vika is so dependable. You can almost always write her into the SF if you see her in a draw.

This was her first match in a month. Lorendana looks to be a talented up-and-coming 16 y.o., but Vika should win this and mark her place in the finals.

The other semi has just finished, so she's gonna play (1) Vasylyeva, who seems to be in poor form this week (3 out of her 4 matches this week were tight 3-setters, and she just saved 3 or 4 MP in her semi.)

Take it, Vika :cheer:

I saw a bit of the match. This was my first time seeing Vika. She's a wily one! She doesn't have a serve, but makes up for it with a bag of tricks: fast retrieving, great drop shots, and the best weapon-- a double and single backhand! :hearts: I've never seen that before! Now I can see why she wins so much being so short--she throws her opponents off with her game.

Good luck to her against the #1 seed.

This was her 5th title of the year. Now goes for her 6th next week, also in Antalya.

Think that is the last tournament for her this year.

She then has nothing to defend until May!
