Guess what? That's interesting as I just have analyzed the statistics, now you see:

Please note that Maria Sharapova will be playing the 7th tournament next week so her ranking will about 45-50 depend how far she can go next week...
Let's say if Maria advances and loses in the SF, then she will be moved up to about #30!!
At age 14:

Strycova: Trns played: 14 Year-End Ranked: #31

Sharapova: Trns played: 7 Year-End Ranked #45-50

Safina: Trns played: 9 Year-End Ranked #71

Harkleroad: Trns played: 10 Year-End Ranked #123
So, I really expect Maria will be going up in the top 10 easily at the end of next year! Even top 5, I bet! So eventually, she will be a tough and fun player!

So, take a chill pill, guys!

Sharky,
Great comparison chart! Thank you.

I do share the common view that Maria has a very bright future as a tennis pro. I was only trying to answer the question about what wild card she will take, or be offered, while still age 14.

I don't think we will even need to ask such questions when Maria is 17, because she won't need wild cards by then.

Great work Sharky!

P.S. - Sharky, remember to let everyone know about your Maria Sharapova website. It debuts January 1, 2002. Right?
