Post Why does Russia have such poor media coverage for the Fed Cup?

I just read Izvestia online. And they had nothing on it in the sports section. Sport-Express didn't even have Dementieva's huge win over Mauresmo. Very dissapointing. Are there any other Russian media sources that are covering the Fed Cup? Any help would be appreciated. I read Russian with the AltaVista Russian to English translation.

I agree there is definetely not much about the Fed Cup. Most people don't know it exists unlike DAvis Cup. When Fed Cup was in Moscow a year ago(or was it two?) the stadium was empty.
There are some articles on http://sport.rbc.ru
There is also http://sport.mail.ru/tennis
not much but anyway...

Its not just in Russia ... most of the papers don't mention it either.

In UK it only gets featured in the classified section.

Even when the GB girls played it only got one or two lines in the sport in brief section.

Womens tennis doesn't get much attention sadly.

If we Russia win tomorrow I'm sure alot of Russian sites will have it covered.

Good luck to my favs

The cat, most of these newspapers were signed for printing before the match against France was over.
They just didn't have a chance. But www.gazeta.ru had a decent report. Others will have it on Monday.

In Singapore, Fed Cup is featured quite prominently in the Sports Section of our main English newspaper.

We get coverage of one live tie every day right up to the final on cable channel, SuperSports. Only thing that made me mad is that I have managed to watch every country play so far except the country I wanted to see and support most... Russia!!!! The channel incrediblily just blocked Russia in their daily coverage so far.

Good thing they got themselves into the final. So I will be watching it live tonight and keeping my fingers crossed for Team Russia...
