i just saw a replay of the match, elena did well. she wasnt being pushed around or anything to much and was holding her own but in the end, during the 2nd set she just started making a few to many unforced errors. wally masur kept commenting on her 2nd serve saying it had all these faults etc and it is something for her to work on and he had a point to a certain degree, like she did almost every 2nd serve, serve it to lindsays forehand but besides that it had nice pace and placement. wally kept commenting on how she sliced the 2nd serve and that a real coach would have picked up on that quickly and changed it, he also said he wonders whether nick b's acadamy is really a coaching acadamy or just a place for kids to hit loads of tennis balls because they have such great groundies and do amazing shots but he is amazed by how poor other aspects of their games are eg slicing the 3nd serve, not being able to do a kick serve.
wasnt a bad performance and elena had her chance, a win would have been nice but she is playing well and i think she can hold down a spot in the top 15 if she stays injury free.
