About a year ago, Lera won her 2nd round match against Cibulkova at the AO causing an upset. One year later, see how it has changed for both. Lera playing a 25K in UK and Cibulkova advancing to the SF of Oz. What a difference a year makes.
Let this be the year where does well again.

on Wikipedia and ITF, said that she lives in Vienna, Austria !
once in an interview, she said she study econimics in Yekaterinburg !
also once i read that she train in an academy in spain and learning spanish !
an now you say (probably according to her Facebook ) she lives in Łódź, Poland !
I think the best place to live for tennis players is Dubai ! cuase it's like a connection point and has direct flight to almost any part of the world so thay can reach their distination easily ! :D

P.S. do you know anything about her fiancée ? who is he ?

Rnd 2

Valeria Savinykh (RUS) d Jade Windley (GBR) 63 57 76 (10) :cheer: :woohoo:

Apperantly Lera likes long matches, this one was well over 3 hours! Yesterday also a close 3-set victory, so she can't complain about match practice . In the 3rd set Lera served twice for the match, but could not convert. In the tiebreak matchpoints were flying over and over, but luckily Lera prevailed :yeah:

Lera, our lovely warrior :worship: :hearts:

QF Valeria Savinykh (RUS) d. (5)Cagla Buyukakcay (TUR) 64 16 76 :woohoo:

Another close 3-setter, another win! Cagla served for the match at 45* and 56*, but both times Lera broke back and kept her nerves in the tiebreaker. She didn't face a match point this time ;). Good luck in semis, Lera, happy days are here again :yeah:

Yes, 25K and 10K points are always counted for rankings a week later. From 50K and above, points are awarded the monday after the tournament. Don't know the exact reason though why

It seems she likes 3-setters :oh:. Hasn't lost one yet this year. If so, let her play a 3-setter again tomorrow ;)
