Re: Russian titles

Maria Sharapova won Tier II Amelia Island, her 19th title, at age 20. And her first clay title, this on green clay.

Russia's Maria Kirilenko kisses the trophy during the podium ceremony at the Estoril Open, after beating Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova 6-4 and 62, at Jamor Stadium in Lisbon, on April 20, 2008. AFP

Re: Russian titles

Well done to Maria on winning her third career singles title. I never expected this title from Makiri after her game struggled so much since the Australian Open. Masha is probably the most inconsisent tennis player I've ever seen. She makes Anna Kounrikova look like she was a consistent player.

Happiness is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business, you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap. - William Bennett

Re: Russian titles

Vera's 6th title, and she is having an excellent year in 2008

Russia's Vera Zvonareva poses with trophy after her final match of the Prague Open 2008 tennis tournament with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus on May 4, 2008 in Prague. Zvonareva defeated Azarenko in two sets, 7-6, 6-2.
