That was after that joke draw in Tokyo where she beat Benesova in the QF, was broken 8 times by Radwanska in the SF and didn't have to play a final.

So Maria ends her year with a lot of questions about her serve, fitness, movement.
And still hasn't beaten Serena since 2004.
There are questions about Maria's serving shoulder and her overall game. But it was good that she won the Japan Open title and went back to her old service motion dumping her new abbreviated serve in the trash where it belongs. I believe if healthy Sharapova will be a factor on the WTA Tour in 2010.
Masha beat Azarenka and Stosur recently and those were very good wins.
On a side note I do wish Maria took a week off and then played another tournament to end her year. But if her season is over then she ended it showing some promise for 2010.

Happiness is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business, you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap. - William Bennett

Tokyo, everyone wishes they can get a draw like that and a retirement in a final.

Re: Maria Sharapova Cheering Club vol.2

You should read some of what I post in Nadia's thread.Or Sveta's thread.

Losing badly to Peng when she was one match from Serena is not something I expected. I thought Maria wanted to stop being Serena's doormat.
But Nadia beat Serena a day later, so it didn't matter.

But if your best results over 6 months is winning close 3 setters against Azarenka or Radwanska, there's still a lot to do.

Radwanska broke Maria about 8 times in Tokyo. Aga broke Sveta about once in Beijing.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
