13 yo leftie Oksana (born Jan 13, 2003) from Korolyov near Moscow is one of the 2 very promising 2003 born Russian girls (along with Masha Timofeeva). :D

Yesterday, she posted a great win in R1 of G5 Head Cup in Moldova (her very first U18 tournament): she upset local top seed Vitalia Stamat (15 yo, #336), 7-5 4-6 6-2   :clap2:

She's won 3 singles titles so far this year: Cat. 2 G14 Togliatti Cup (she was the 2nd seed, beat qualifier Elizaveta Dementyeva 6-4 7-6(6) in the final), Cat. 2 G16 Yason Cup in Novi Sad (her final opponent, 15th seed Andrijana Stoilkovic, gave a WO in the final :oh:), and Cat. 2 G16 Children's Day Cup last week in Moldova (she was the 2nd seed, she beat 15 yo top seed Roxana Manu 7-6(6) 6-1 in the final ). :yeah:

She also made 1 more final, at Cat. 1 G14 O1 Properties Christmas Cup in Khimki, her first tournament of the year - she was the 16th seed, beat Maria Timofeeva, who was coming from the qualies, 6-4 3-6 6-4 in SF, and lost to top seed Daria Snigur 2 & 4 in the final. :awww:

At the "U14 Slam" of Les Petits As in January, she qualified for the MD, beat WC Maëlys Bougrat 1-6 6-2 6-2 in R1, and fell to 8th seed Qinwen Zheng (who is a very strong player) 2 & 1 in R2.
It will be very interesting to see how she does at this tournament next year, she & Masha are gonna be big favourites! :D

GL to Oksi in the future! :cheer: :bounce:

Oksi moves on to the final with a 4 & 3 win over Kubka :worship: :hearts:

She'll face Roxana Manu (2001, #970) in the final :bounce:

Roxi will be tough, she's one of the top 2001 European girls. However, she seems pretty frail mentally, while Oksi must be riding on a huge confidence high, and she dropped a couple sets this week, so there's hope! :cheer:
Regardless of the final result, it is a crazy amazing week for Oksi :D GL!

Aww, she lost 6-3 3-6 3-6 in the final :crying2:

Nevermind, it's been a fabulous week for her, being 1 set away to win the title against a solid 2001 girl (and having slain the top seed who was another solid 2001 girl in R1), at her first G18 ever :worship: Very promising! Hopefully she builds on this and just keep slayin'! :hi5: :cheer:

Oksi has qualified for the U16 Tennis Europe Junior Masters, which will take place next week-end in Italy! :D

Junior Masters line-up revealed - Tennis Europe

Today was Day 1 of the TEJM, and Oksi annihilated 2nd seed Reka Zadori, 1 & 3  :D

Wow, that's a great win - Zadori is older (2001 born), and she was part of her national team last week at the Junior Fed Cup, so she played a ton of matches against an elite U16 field! That was definitely the toughest girl she could have drawn in this category, and she completely obliterated her :clap2:

She'll face 4th seed Tamara Malesevic in SF tomorrow, keep going! :armed: :cheer: There's a possibility of an all-Russian final (against top seed Medvedeva) in this category :bounce:

Oksi lost Malesevic, 6-7(2) 7-6(5) 2-6 :sobbing:  Malesevic is over 2 years older though (2000 born...)

She'll face top seed Daniella Medvedeva... for the bronze medal. :awww: :Grab it! :armed: :cheer:

Oksi lost 3-6 5-7 to Daniella

Ugh, too bad! :( But Daniella lives and trains in Spain (plus she's built like a Spaniard!), so had it not been on clay the result would have probably been different. :awww:

Not a bad week overall. She'll face another chance next year! :)

Final ranking:

1. Mariam Dalakishvili
2. Tamara Malesevic
3. Daniella Medvedeva
4. Oksana Selekhmeteva
5. Reka Zadori
6. Elena Milovanovic
7. Anna Martemyanova
8. Mihaela Djakovic

Oksi played G5 Green Cup in St-Pet this week, she had a disppointing R1 exit in singles (she was the 7th seed, lost 5-7 3-6 to 71 yo WC Valeriya Denisenko) but still managed to grab the title in doubles, with Anastasia Zakharova: they were the 4th seeds, beat top seeds Reyngold/Volodko 6-3 2-6 [10-7] in SF, and 2nd seeds Afanasyeva/Kharitonova 4-6 6-1 [10-8] in the final :clap2:

She spent New Year Eve with Masha, and they're playing the Cat. 1 G14 in Khimki next week (last year at the same tournament they faced each other in SF, and Oksi won 6-4 3-6 6-4 :awww:) :cheer::cheer:
