Lena in Estoril

</IMG>08/04/2004 TÉNIS

Estoril Open 2004

Elena Bovina é a última "wild card"

Babelfish stinks. But it's great Lena's playing. This is for small money though.
You need to play Miami, healthy or not, to get paid.

The article basically says that:

Elena Bovina was third WC for the Estoril Open, that it was there where she started to play at her best level. Then, it has some of her career highlights, and it mentions that she injured her left foot and that was the reason why she didn't play Miami.

Lena played Estoril in 2000, 2001 (finalist as a qualifier), and 2002 (semis).

Lena played well in Moscow, after some time off. But red clay will test her fitness.

Lena hasn't played since losing to Pierce in Paris. She was in the draw in Antwerp, but withdrew.
Estoril is a tournament that must bring back good memories for Lena. And it will get her on the road to Roland Garros.

You already said that. At least Lena is playing again. That means the injury has healed.

Good to know Elena is coming back. If she decided to accept WC, I think she is ready. Good luck!

Lena has nothing to defend until Toronto. I still think she can make the Olympic team.
She needs a big clay season. Especially Roland Garros.

Sveta went from #29 to #14 in two Tier II tournaments. If Lena reaches the quarters in Berlin and Paris, she would be in position to make the Olympic team.
