Is Irina Privalova going to be competing this season?

I know it's athletics not tennis but I'm hoping you don't mind. It's really hard to find news on Irina even at IAAF sites so I was hoping maybe someone had heard something or a Russian poster had maybe heard or read something in the domestic Russian press. I'd love to see her defend her 400 m hurdles Olympic title in Athens but a year or two ago she was said to be considering the 800 metres. I haven't heard anything about a retirement.

I used to love the three way 100 and 200 metre sprint battles between Privalova, Ottey & Torrence.

of course we don't mind... I love that chick. I'm hoping she'll compete, but haven't heard or read anything about her.

she has competed on 800m last year, but her result was surprisingly very low...

Thanks. By the looks of those times she was hampered by injuries in 2003.

I hope the best for Irina. But how cab she still have the hunger to win at this stage of her career and life? I'm sure being a mother is much more important than her sport is. And all the injuries has to have taken a toll on her.

Happiness is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business, you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap. - William Bennett
