While I'm at it... :oh: Left-handed Nastya born on Reb 15, 2000 in Ryazan and based in Helsinki (training at the Jarko Nieminen Academy), is of one my favourite Russian juniors. :hearts: :cheer:

She started very strong last year, winning 3 tournaments in a row - G4 ITF Junior Cup Copenhagen Indoor (beating Sandra Ortevall 1 & 3 in the final), G4 ALK Open (beating Polina Bakhmutkina 7-5 6-4 in the final), and G4 ITF Kramfors High Coast Junior World Ranking Tournament (beating Viktoria Morvayova 1 & 3 in the final) -, but after that she didn't follow up (only made 1 SF, at G3 Bytom Cup). :(
She snatched her first pro MD wins last November though: at 10K Stockholm she beat Maja Ornberg 6-3 7-6(2) in R1, lost to Tess Sugnaux 2-6 5-7 in R2, and at 10K Helsinki she beat Charlotte Klasen 6-7(7) 6-4 6-4 in R1, lost to Daria Mironova 6-7(1) 1-6 in R2 (in 2014 she also played 2 satellites, but lost both times in R1). :)

This week she started the year at G4 Salk Open in Sweden, where she was seeded 4 and made the final - beating qualifier Oleksandra Oliynykova 3 & 2 in R1, Katie Lafrance 2 & 1 in R2, qualifier Mariella Minetti 1 & 0 in QF and Polina Bakhmutkina 3 & 4 in SF, before falling to 3rd seed Ida Jarlskog (17 yo, #181, CHR 136) 3 & 2 in the final today.
She's currently ranked #254, her CHR is 209. Hoping for a great 2016! :bounce: :cheer:

JNTA "Good start of the year for Anastasia Kulikova.
Good start of the year with finals of singles and doubles at the ITF G4 in Stockholm for Anastasia "Nastia" Kulikova. Run cut short by a small injury. Still one more tournament to go. Next destination Malmö.
Well done and good luck Nastia!"

Hope she'll be fine :awww:

Nastya is up to a new CHR of 195 (+59), breaking into the Top 20 for the 1st time! :D

Edit: she was the 3rd seed at G4 EuroElite ITF Junior Malmo Open this week, retired at 6-7(1) 1-4 against Melis Yasar in R1 :( Hope she'll be fine

Nastya won G4 ITF Junior Cup Copenhagen Indoor this week, congrats! :hearts:

She was the top seed, had a bye in R1, beat (WC)Clara Tauson 3 & 0 in R2, double-bagelled (14)Andjela Sebrek in R3 , beat (10)Hannah Viller Moller 6-1 4-6 6-2 in QF, (4)Olga Helmi 3 & 2 in SF, and Helena Francati 1 & 3 in the final :yeah:

Hopefully she gets back into the Top 200 within a few weeks, and will get to the Top 100 and her first Slam appearances at some point this year! :D :cheer:

Nastya has posted 2 very good wins so far this week at G1 Perin Memorial in Croatia :hearts:

She beat 9th seed Lara Salden (#62) 7-6(4) 3-6 6-4 in R1, and fellow 2000 born leftie Irina Cantos Siemers 6-2 4-6 6-1 in R2  :yeah:

Congrats to Nastya on winning G4 Vierumaki Junior Cup this week: she was the top seed and didn't drop a set (never dropped more than 5 games in a match), beat Maria Lota Kaul (who routined 2nd seed Helmi in R2) 2 & 3 in the final. :yeah:

This is her 3rd consecutive singles title, she won G5 Liepaja (top seeded, beat Katriin Saar 1 & 1 in the final) and G5 Siauliai (top seeded, she beat 3rd seed Rebeka Margareta Mertena 7-6(5) 6-3 in the final), 4th singles title this year. She's 4-1 in singles final this year, which is nice but I don't really see the point in vulturing these lower-grade ITFs in terms of development, she would really benefit more from playing some stronger tournaments with an older and more experienced opposition. She played a few G1-2s in March and April, lost in R1 most of the time and went back to G4-5s. :smash:

(Edit: She didn't play for almost 5 months after April, turns out she had an injury. I understand better why she wanted to play weaker tournaments to regain more confidence now, hopefully next year she upgrades again! :)).

Nastya has upgraded! :D She's flown to Israel for G2 Matan Gafniel Raanana this week: she's the 16th seed, had a bye in R1, and thrashed Lina Glushko 1 & 1 in R2  :yeah:

Tough challenge ahead in R3, as she'll face 2nd seed Oleksandra Andrieieva (same age, #79), who's had a great year :bounce:

Another week in Israel for Zhenya, at G2 Adam Bergman & Nataniel Piper ITF Junior Tournament, she was the 16th seed there and had a bye in R1, then flopped to Axana Mareen in R2, 6-7(4) 1-6 :(
