Time to open a thread about my favourite junior player.
She is born on 14.05.1993 and she is probably France's biggest hope.
She reached two times the QF in Les Petits As in Tarbes and she also won one Grade 3 title in Tunisia.
She is 259th in the juniors rank, which is quite impressive for such a young girl.
Kristina is very very tall for her age (more than 1m75) and she is known to hit amazing forehands. One of my friends who saw her playing compared her game to Mary's !!!
She really should have done better. Ivanovic was playing like crap in the beginning, but Kristina didn't take advantage at all. Plays a solid first game on return and breaks right away, but throws in a stinker of a service game and is broken right back. And those break points she had at 2-2... all those basic backhand errors... It's almost as if she was choking... what the hell was that backhand slice on the 4th BP?
I stopped watching after the first set. I couldn't watch it live, and using the catch-up section on TennisTV means knowing in advance how long the match lasted. No point in putting myself through another 25 minutes of torture when I already knew the outcome.

I watched most of the match now and, yeah, Ana mostly thrived of Kiki's UEs. So I take back the part about IPTL Well, since she had to wait so long and it was cold and all, you could hardly expect from someone like Kiki to put on a decent performance. Maybe from some pro with a team or something. Not from Kiki
well agree with all you said here, the fact is the day she will use all her qualities and DECIDES to use it, then she will be competitive. What a waste of talent and time cause she has the game , we ALL know that.
the probleme like Skoo said, is she's not acting as a professional tennis player. Has she came on court with a game plan? certainly not. she was just there to play, not good, but she saw a light and decided to come you know
she NEVER played good while traveling alone with her mother. NEVER. I have nothing against family coaching but to be honest, mum is better in her "mum job", supporting her daughter.
But hey, you re facing a top5 player, former n°1, you can not beat her if you are not invested at 300% on each point!sometimes she didnt even try to reach the ball, was late.

TBH, I think it'd be better if she stopped supporting her daughter  What Dzenita does is probably to simply spoil her even more. Sure, she seems to give some tactical advice and shit, but the bottom line is that she probably just makes Kiki comfortable with her unprofessional ways and is there for Kiki to have someone to throw her frustration at.
I thought she had some potential when I watched her matches in Kuala Lumpur last year, when she fought her way to the title.
But when I saw her play live for the first time in Montreal last summer, I was not exactly impressed. Her serve in particular was a complete mess... she hit 20+ DFs and lost the last game by hitting 4 DFs in a row (from 0-0), something I had NEVER seen before (or since).
what a pity she should have won that game, she started to move her feet, returning the poor barthel serves, even making a tweener!Oh my God she s not rewarded for being such an artist!
