Re: Vera Zvonareva rise to the top cheering thread, Vol 3
I disagree, guys, I don't think Vera will benefit much from playing ITF tourneys. She just needs time and some rythm. I don't think she will gain that from playing the ITF circuit. I know every player is different and come back from different injuries, but take Pennetta as an example. She came back last year in february after a surgery in 2012 to the wrist. She didn't win much, had some unlucky draws and losing to players you would not expect her. And then from summer it all fell together again and even reached the SF at US open, QF at AO, and well back within top 32 atm. Now I am not saying Vera will achieve the same, but Vera is just back for a month now after 1,5 years absence. She just needs time, work on her fitness and above all, stay healthy. In fact I think that let's say in Miami, and draws Serena first round, will benefit her more than playing a 25K in Moscow or something.
Let's say in 6 more months we can probably tell more how this has worked out so far.
Maybe this whole comeback does not work at all, who knows, but now too early to jump to conclusions.
Valeria Savinykh - Aryna Sabalenka
Vitalia Diatchenko - Ekaterina Makarova - Alexandra Panova - Valeria Solovyeva - Ksenia Pervak
Good luck to all russian players
