Dear Fans:

"I felt I owed you a heartfelt explanation after my heart wrenching loss yesterday. As you all well know, I've been struggling with a leg injury since Europe. Although I took off from playing in 3 tournaments, the doctors warned me that if I continued to play, I could make things worse. As a competitor, it's really hard to hear of accept this but it's clear, things are a bit more serious so I must put down my racket to do the appropriate treatments to avoid surgery. Sadly this is not the news I wanted to give but I had wanted to be honest so none of you thought I was just giving away matches. I promise to keep you all updated and hope this extended time of rest and treatment will have me strong and ready when I'm given the green lights. Thank you for your support."
Nadia is so nice. Get well soon ! :)

Any chance Nadia will play YEC doubles?! Easy enough to play two sets and collect the pay cheque and big points...?

Awful loss in Luxembourg doubles SF. I guess Nadia is not 100 % fit yet

Best of luck in YEC now with Srebotnik. They have to play a lot better. Win the title :p

It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Nadia's mother this past Saturday, December 7th. She was a dearly loved daughter, wife, mother and friend. The foundation of the family, who lived motivating everyone and striving for more. An accomplished bronze medalist in 1976 Olympics. She's going to be greatly missed. We'd like to kindly ask everyone to respect Nadia and her family's privacy during this tragic and difficult time. We will try and update you as much as possible. Thanks for all the outpouring love and support. - Petrova Dream Team
I hope Nadia takes the time off she needs and then prepares well and comes back strong :awww:

Nadia's out of Aus open too it seems. Although a bit sad about her absence, I hope she'll come back when she's fully ready which may take a long time considering what happened. Hope she will recover eventually
