Malaysia lost. But what's new? I didn't expect them to win anyway.

What a pity there was no women's team for Malaysia.

Talking Grueling SF match between Indonesia and Philippines!

After Septi Mende defeated Patricia in the 1st match - Czarina Mae Arevalo had sweet revenge by downing Sandy Gumulya! Sandy outclassed Czarina last month in Manila when both players competed in 10K! In the 1st set, Sandy was actually leading 5-2 but Czarina rallied to level the match and forced Sandy into TB. In this TB, Sandy was also leading 5-4 but then she lost 6-7(5)! The non-playing captain of Indonesia, Suzanna Anggarkusuma said that Sandy was not tough mentally and she could not handle critical points. While Czarina played very good!

In 2nd set, Sandy regained her control and she made 3 aces then closed the set 6-4! Final set was full of strokes from baseline by both players and over all the match was eventually done in 2 hours or so! Both players broke each other's serve in this final set. In another TB, Sandy was actually leading again 5-2 but she just could not manage her own game and it went on 7 all then finally Czarina won TB, 9-7! Luckily, in doubles' match - Wynne Prakusya/Maya Rosa could win over Arevalo/Santos 75 62 and Indonesia became the challenger against very strong Thailand in final!

Thumbs up Indonesia & Thailand split the gold medals!

Surprising result for Indonesian men!!!
Yes, yes, yes!!! Febi, Prima, Hendri and Suwandi fought courageously to defeat strong Thailand and grabbed the gold medal in men's team event. Indonesia won 2-1! Congrats to the Indonesian men's team!!! Also congrats to Thailand men's team!

Predicted result for Thailand women's team to defeat Indonesia 2-1 in final and captured the gold medal! With injured and lack of confident Wynne, Indonesia could not ask for more but only to bag silver medal! Congrats to Thailand and congrats to Wynne and trio SMS! Great experience for the young players - Sandy, Maya and Septi!

Thanks for the results, Vut!

I just wanted to make the scores complete as informed by Septi Mende via short message service which was forwarded to me by Angie's mother! Thanks, mum!

Indonesia def. Thailand 2-1
Prima Simpatiaji(INA) def. Attapol Rithiwatanapong(THA) 7-6, 6-1
Danai Udomchoke(THA) def. Febi Widhiyanto(INA) 3-6,6-4,6-3
Hendri S.Pramono / Suwandi Suwandi(INA) def. Sonchat Ratiwatana / Sanchai Ratiwatana(THA) 6-4,7-6(6)

Team Women FINAL
Thailand def. Indonesia 2-1
Sandy Gumulya(INA) def. Napaporn Tongsalee(THA) 6-4, 6-1
Suchanan Viratprasert(THA) def. Wynne Prakusya(INA) 6-4,6-2
Suchanan Viratprasert / Napaporn Tongsalee(THA) def. Wynne Prakusya / Maya Rosa(INA) 6-4, 2-6, 6-1

My personal comment:
Prima was a better player along with his big serve! Danai was for sure having higher quality than Febi! The Ratiwatanas have been doing well on tours, but being in multi-event such Sea Games - it was surely different kind of game and they just lack of luck maybe! Good combination of Hendri and very experienced Suwandi!

Congrats to Sandy after her loss to Arevalo in SF, she could regroup herself and showed her own form by knocking down Robbee! Robbee must be tired physically after all the tours she had! Another loss for Wynne from Viratprasert again after Fed Cup qualifying in Tokyo earlier this year! Not surprising at all since Wynne is still very much injured physically and she is very very fragile mentally!!! Sorry to say, but Wynne is a total victim of herself as consequence of not standing-up on her own for many years! She must take a long break to heal her injury as well as her personal problem! Come on Wynne, do you wanna hear Coco Lee to sing "Reflection" for you or Cindy Lauper with "True Color"???
