I heard it from my friend from Indonesia Tennis Association. Executive Director ATF Mr. Uthrapatty also ask same question? It seem Angie can't play there although she will get air ticket and accomodation. I will post the latest new about it if any.

The biggest problem for Chia-jung Chuang, Chin-wei Chan, and Hsiao-han Chao is MONEY.
Su-wei is from a financially "not-that-well" family, and PAPA Hsieh had to BEG for money for Su-wei's traveling. Now Su-wei had finally had a sponsor, but still none for Chuang, Chan, and Chao. PAPA Hsieh used to share Su-wei's prize money with Chan for her traveling.
Now Chuang starts to win titles...I really hope she can find a sponsor as soon as possible. So can Chan and Chao. They're all talened girls.

Congrats to :

Elena Dementieva for winning Pan Pacific Open! First Tier 1 title!
Make it into the top 5 girl !!!!

Best wishes to Taiwanese & Chinese girls, especially :
Su-wei Hsieh, Yung-jan Chan, Chin-wei Chan, Wen-hsin Hsu, and Chia-jung Chuang !

Su-Wei's money problems should be going away by now though .... after semis at Wismilak, a 25k challenger win, and her success here in Pattaya.
I am not too worried as plenty of money will be going her way very soon judging by her results....
Shame about the other girls though ... if i was rich i swear i would sponsor one

Money really seems to be the problem for most of the upcoming Asian girls.
I think Angie comes from a pretty well-off family so I don't think she's had much financial problems.

Yu-Lun, do you know what's happen to some of the slightly older Taiwanese women?

* Yu-An Chen used to be a pretty decent junior a few years ago, but hardly plays any pro events.
* Tzu-Ting Weng was ranked in the Top 300 a few years ago, but has dropped since, but she still plays in some of the Asian events.
* I-Ting Wang plays regular on the Asian circuit, but her results haven't been fantastic.
* Lan-Lan Tai has been playing Asian events lately without any success. Is she any good?

BTW, do you know what's happened to Hsueh-Li Hsu? I remember she used to play the Asian circuit regularly a few years ago, but disappeared in 1999.

danker :
Here's some information of these players you mentioned above.
FAR AS I KNOW :
Yu-An Chen - the last time I heard about her was that she ran into a motorcycle accident and injured herself. It was about half an year ago.
Tzu-Ting Weng - Actually she was in Manilla playing tourments along with Chuang, Chan, and Chao, and got quite impressive results. I was quite surprised that she was on tour again. I though she had already given up.We once held quite high expectations on Weng, hoping she could be another Shi-ting Wang, but obviously she didn't quite reach that level.
I-Ting Wang, Lan-Lan Tai, and Hsueh-Li Hsu never really won fans' attention...After Shi-ting Wang, we invited Janet Lee, and now it's Su-wei Hsieh and Chia-jung Chuang's era. Wang,Tai, and Hsu could only make some news in our local events.

I just saw some photos of Su-Wei on the Volvo Open message thread -

Su-Wei's so petite!!! Her lithe build reminds me of Monica Seles's build when Seles first came into the tour at 15 years as well.

After seeing Seles play as a 16 year old at Roland Garros - i certainly can imagine Su-Wei's style of play!!!

And from the report from Steveg - it seems like Su-Wei's a male version of Melanie Molitor - looks like he can help his daughter in terms of strategy/mental strength and family support.
