R32: lost to Urszula Radwanska (POL/126) (5)6-7 3-6
>>> Amanmuradova, 24, runner-up at this event three years ago, and local favorite, blamed herself for the 7-6(7-5), 6-3 loss to the seventeen year old Urzula Radwanska of Poland. I am frank in telling you that I could not handle the pressure of my country people , I had my chances at 3-1 in the tiebreaker, but could not take it , I am angry at myself and at this level it is a crime to lose advantage , she said later.
But for the young Radwanska, who lost in the second round to Serena Williams at this year Wimbledon, it was nice feeling to account for country star in her background.
“It is always difficult to play a star in the country, I have watched Akgul playing my older sister Agnieszka in Rome earlier and I had made a plan to play her , she said. Radwanska Jr. added Akgul serve was very tough, but breaking her in the very first game made it easier for her to handle it for the rest of the match. <<< From: http://www.tashkentopen.uz/
I was worried she might blame me, after I told her Radwanska would be easy, having been beaten 3 & 3 by Laura Robson, only last week. Oops
There’s a longer Akgul interview here: http://www.tennis.uz/
..she says she's exhausted, which was no doubt a factor here.
