Wynne Prakusya is a player from Indonesia who had some good success on the tour a few years ago, getting to the top 100 and had a nice junior career too. I expect her to be in the top 150 in 2006 at least.

Here is my guess for the top 10 Asians in 2006.

1. Sania Mirza (sadly)
2. Peng Shuai
3. Li Na
4. Ai Sugiyama
5. Zheng Jie
6. Akiko Morigami
7. Shinobu Asagoe
8. Cho Yoon-Jeong
9. Yan Zi
10. Sun Tian Tian

And then I think Tammy (top 100) will make a rise, Angie if she plays, Wynne, Rika (top 100), Aiko (top 100), Obata (top 100), Ryoko Fuda.

It looks like Americans Meilen Tu, Lilia Osterloh, and Vania King could all be around top top 100-120 in 2006 too. Ting Li is so good too, and I hope she can play enough to get where she belongs. I hope Su-Wei can make the transition between ITF and WTA maindraws sometime soon. I think Akgul will play consistently enough to be in the top 150 herself.

2006, the Year of the Asians!
