Uh, where is Yuka?

What's happened to Yuka Yoshida? I'm sure it's already known by many, and I'm probably out of the loop, but I've been wondering...

I'm wondering as well. Absolutely no news on her website and her BBS has been taken off. She even worked for TV during Fed Cup. I hope she hasn't retired. Her year has been pretty decent...

I hope she isn't done, but her results have not been the same since her good run in Memphisin singles and ehr win there in doubles. I was excited to see her in St. Paul afterthat but she bombed out to a nobody in the first round 1 and 1.....I only got to see the last point....but I did see her practicing with Morigami. Hope she comes back....She plays well on the hard courts...

Didn't she play Wimbledon qualies?

Go Ai, Venus, Na, Tamarine!

Nope, she hasn't played since RG qualies.

The reason why she hasn't done much since Memphis is because of her scheduling. She actually had a long break after St Paul, and went back to the US to play on green clay. Extremely bad move.

Yuka officially retired today...

I don't like the manner in which she retired (RG 1R qualies loss and then disappeared into thin air). It would have been much better to play the year out (or finish at the Japan Open) especially since her ranking is still in the Top 200. Oh well, it's her decision.

Well done Yuka on a pretty successful career.
