Seiko Okamoto Thread

I was totally captivated as I stood mere feet away and watched the tall, rhythmic, athletic Seiko perform in a recent tournament. I want to learn more about this exotic, intriguing 26 year old from Japan.

Seiko seems to have these random lop-sided losses. She wins and wins and then all of a sudden there's nothing. Go Seiko!

Go Ai, Venus, Na, Tamarine!

it was not an ugly loss in a sense. Yes Groenfeld is a better player at the moment, she hits harder i would expect, and also has more weapons.... but Seiko is on her way up, she showed that this week.
however saying things like "will always be much better" ...... thats not true at all.

But she has never done anything close to Groenefeld

What did she do that was so special this week

Seiko just defeated number 4 seed Marie-Eve Pelletier in the second round of Wimbledon qualifying 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 (After being down a set and 3-1)!!! She trounced Delia Sescioreanu in the first round 6-1, 6-2...This is a great result so far for Seiko and she has been in strong form of late! She'll playEls Callens in the qualifying round...Thisis a very winnable match but Callens is tough on grass. Another thing Seiko has going for her in that match is that Callens spent a loooonnnnnggggg time on court in her second round match so lets hope Seiko can take advantage of a possible fatigued opponent! GO SEIKO! PS Seiko only got int the qualifying as an alternate when Rubin withdrew so she's making the most of this opportunity!

Go Ai, Venus, Na, Tamarine!
