Only 4 pairs in this dbl Q round and one match is completed:
Ivana Abramovic/Seiko Okamoto (CRO/JPN) d Ayu Fani Damayanti/Naoko Horikawa (INA/JPN) 8-2
***Ayu is a local talent - yes, she is native of Bali and only 14 years old girl. Last year, she was one of the ball girls at 2002 Wismilak Open and she has no WTA ranking yet now - In junior level, she has been doing well in doubles with her good friend - local talent Nancy Metriya. Ayu is being sponsored by Wismilak to improve her ITF junior ranking abroad. Her last overseas trip was in Darwin, Australia. She was once chosen by ITF to be in ITF team for Europe tour last year
Surprise, surprise - the other match will be played tomorrow between:
YAYUK BASUKI/Diana Julianto (INA) v Kumiko Iijima/Aiko Nakamura (JPN)
Yayuk is playing again for the sake of guiding her new student, Diana Julianto and definitely she is not looking for the bucks anymore...Last time, I saw Yayuk played an exhibition match against Wukirasih Sawondari in the opening ceremony of Thamrin Cup International (junior tourney back in June) and she was still quite good!
