Groth/Hewitt were almost unwatchable today. Celebrating like they won a slam after every point. It makes Hewitt look so desperate, it's a second round doubles match for fuck's sake.
Serena Zhang has arguably the best natural ball-striking ability of anyone left in the draw. 27 W/13 UE, 86% 1st Serves in... Just ridiculous. If she can keep up this mental calmness she will crush Keys.
She's won over so many people (myself included), she's just a pleasure to watch. The crowd absolutely love her, so why not show her ffs?? It's the Grand Slam of Asia Specific after all.
Don't ask me I've always loved Rena She plays tennis how it should be played, more so than anyone left in the draw. I hope she's on MCA again she plays best there Please make the SFs
7tennis getting a minor battering on Twitter again tonight.
My partner, who is nowhere near as whingey as me, had a hissy fit today when they didn't go back to the Azarenka/Osaka match and turned it off for the rest of the day. When he's behaving like that, you know something's up lol.
Serena needs to make the QF. Tbh she really should, she would have straight setted Keys of they'd played today. @TS are they really showing an 09' replay
This is off the scale. The actual tournament scheduling has been great but the coverage scheduling... it's so terribly NID that when there's a womans match on RLA there is a decent chance it won't even MAKE it to the television (on either channel), let alone be on the first channel.
It's a fucking disgrace and I am furious. Clearly more Twitter bashing is required.

Kim doesn't really give any gameplay insights but her bubbly personality and locker room info is really nice to listen to. Basil Zempilas is also so much less arrogant and does the "non-expert commentator" role perfectly, not assuming but asking Kim, the "expert", questions. Good team
Schedule for tomorrow is out...
Serena and Maria is on at 12.45 and the night game is Novak and Kei.
Noooooooooo
Sucks to be working when the better match is on!!!!!!!
Day 2 of the 2017 season and I have to say... the Brisbane coverage has been balanced in terms of gender so far :yeah: Showing a few more women's matches than men's which is appropriate given the women's draw is so much stronger.
Well men's side is more top heavy I feel (4 top 10s, three in top 5, is quite a lot) but good balance as you said. Will help if Sam doesn't lose in R1.
Yes I've been very impressed by the coverage. The first test was Svitolina vs Puig or Mahut vs Robert. The choice was obvious was you never know with 7...but they went for the high ranked woman's match on centre court so that was good. Pity it was a boring shitshow that made the choice look bad but good for 7 to do that. Also notice how they keep mentioning Sam's match and had a little featurette with her, was nicely balanced with preparing for the Tomic match
