If Clijsters Loses before the Semi-Finals...

If Clijsters loses before the semi-finals Chanda Rubin is the 2003 US Open Champion. Here is why I think so...

Rubin has an easy draw to the Quater-Finals and the way I saw her hitting at the Arthur Ashe Kids Day she is in top form.

When she faces Lindsay or most likely Lindsay it will be a win for Rubin because Lindsay is not 100% right now with her injury and maybe Lindsay might lose before the Q-F's! Not to offend any Lindsay fans. I believe that if Lindsay was 100% it would be a tough battle.

Next it would be either Mauresmo or Clijsters if Mauresmo or Clijsters make it that far. Clijsters has a pretty hard draw and Mauresmo still isn't up to par. Giving Rubin a chance to dominate.

If Mauresmo advances to the Semi's Rubin will advance to the Final's because last time Rubin and Mauresmo faced off at the Nasdaq-100 Open (when Mauresmo was healthy) Rubin wooped her butt. If Clijsters advances WHO KNOWS what will happen I believe if Rubin gets to the Semi's she'll have so much confidence that she'll beat Clijsters in 3 tight sets!

Now if Rubin advances to the final the real question is...who will be her opponent. Its as easy as this...Henin-Hardenne or Capriati. Either way Rubin will win because Rubin defeated Capriati earlier this year in a thriller while she KILLED Henin-Hardenne at the Nasdaq-100 Open. If it is Capriati-Rubin it will be a more exciting final!

So this is how I'll wrap it up....

Rubin VS. Capriati

or

Rubin VS. Henin-Hardenne

WINNER = Rubin either way!

GO RUBIN~!~!!~

I think it is a little biased in Rubin's favour, lIndsay beat Rubin in San Diego, if mauresmo beats Kim mauresmo must be in awesome form and would then be in better form than last time she played rubin, henin has improved heaps since miami, and well we all know why kim must lose before the semis for your prediction to pan out

It is indeed a *bit* biased in Chanda's favour...Honestly, if Rubin makes the final, I'll send you a 100$-check....no kidding

and you posted the same reply in general messages. alex might be a bit obsessed with chanda, but at least he/she has taste. he/she probably doesn't criticise kim fans when they support her. nothing offensive was said, and i know personally that if you have been a fan of chanda's for a long time you often need to start cluthcing a strings in order to keep the hope alive that she will fulfill her vast potential after all the injuries she suffered throughout her career.

This is sad. Rubin has had a crap summer hard court season, and as much as I like her, she wont advance past the Quarterfinals.

crap might be a bit harsh. she played one tournament and made the quarterfinals losing to lindsay and hasn't played since then - that might be the reason she won't win, but it's not because she had a crap summer hardcourt season. (i hate these things!!)

Kim is looking pretty safe through to the Final right now.... the one who may threaten Kim is Vera Zvonareva if she is not going to be cranky and mad!!!

I don't see Kim losing to Chanda..... Kim's movement and court coverage are too much for Chanda already!!!

*cough* Vento-Kabchi d. Rubin 6-4 6-4 *cough*

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

...as if the women's tournament needed upsets...the organizers must be really angry...it reminda me more and more of the Australian Open'95, where Graf and Seles were out and Sabatini, Novotna and MJF lost early...this is a disaster.
