Now that Venus is gone, who will go thru in that Quarter??

the big 3 candidates are Sugiyama, Schiavone and Srebotnik.

Dark horses .. Farina-Elia and Pisnik

My pick is Sugiyama could seh be in the top 10 if she reaches this far in here? Schiavone is my 2nd choice.

Maju terus Tenis Indonesia!

I don't see anyone here getting to the SF, but someone will have a good QF run, that's for sure.

I'd have to agree with your assessment, Rhz...

Ai is probably the favorite with Francesca close behind. Both are having excellent years. Katarina is steady and a matchup against Francesca would be interesting although I'm counting on Fran to pull through there.

After a terrific run at W, Silvia has struggled to find her form on the hard courts after having some minor surgery performed. I hope she can right herself here quickly and get to a third round match with Ai but she has some tricky matches early.

I'll lump Nicole in the group of dark horses with Tina.

I hope Ai can get thru... but Nicole is tough...(and tough for Ai too... according to their H2H.)

This part of the draw is now completly unfair None of the Top 10 there. And when U look at the draw and see a possible Capriati/Dementieva in 1/8 near of an eventual Sugiyama/Srebotnik

If Nicole Pratt can get past Jill and Silvia, expect her to give Ai fits She absolutely owns Ai and that match (should it happen) will be very interesting!

Nicole beat Silvia at the Aus Open and she can do it again on current form (but probably won't, lol) she is one to watch. But I don't expect her to make it as far as the QF.

Francesca Schiavone is my dark horse in that section.
