Re: List of junior number ones?

Yes I saw that, it's the list of girls who finished the year as number one but is there a list of all the girls who have been number one? For example Robson has been number one and she is not on this list

Re: List of junior number ones?

Yes, 1998 was Dokic.

There is another thread here on tennisforum which goes a bit further back (to 1993) but it's only year end top 10 rankings and is not complete either (as requested by OP):

Re: List of junior number ones?

I started making a quick list of no.1s since 2000. It's not very comprehensive because the ITF website only has when the player first became no.1. So obviously...there are players that weren't ranked no.1 twice and they can't be listed because of that. I imagine that all the number 1s have been Grand Slam or GA winners, I can't imagine there be a no.1 player with only G1s...

Anyways...

1. Irina Khromacheva RUS (31 Oct 2011)
2. Sophie-An Mestach BEL (31 Jan 2011)
3. Daria Gavrilova RUS (23 Aug 2010)
4. Elina Svitolina UKR (21 Jun 2010)
5. Kristina Mladenovic FRA (08 Jun 2009)
6. Laura Robson GBR (30 Mar 2009)
7. Noppawan Lertcheewakarn THA (08 Dec 2008)
8. Arantxa Rus NED (07 Jul 2008)
9. Simona Halep ROU (19 Jun 2008)
10. Urszula Radwanska POL (10 Sep 2007)
11. Agnieszka Radwanska POL (26 Jun 2006)
12. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova RUS (30 Jan 2006)
13. Victoria Azarenka BLR (31 Jan 2005)
14. Michaella Krajicek NED (30 Sep 2004)
15. Kateryna Bondarenka UKR (05 Jul 2004)
16. Sessil Karatantcheva KAZ (28 Jun 2004)
17. Kirsten Flipkens BEL (08 Sep 2003)
18. Anna-Lena Groenefeld GER (07 Jul 2003)
19. Vera Dushevina RUS (17 Mar 2003)
20. Barbora Zahlavova Strycova CZE (18 Mar 2002)
21. Svetlana Kuznetsova RUS (10 Dec 2001)
22. Eva Birnerova CZE (15 Oct 2001)
23. Kaia Kanepi EST (11 Jun 2001)
24. Jelena Jankovic SRB (28 May 2001)
25. Maria-Emilia Salerni ARG(29 May 2000)
26. Lina Krasnoroutskaya RUS (31 Dec 1999)

..if you guys can add to it, that'd be fantastic. Get a more comprehensive list going.

Jelena Dokic and Amelie Mauresmo were also number one in juniors.

Re: List of junior number ones?

Year-ending world no. 1's in girls' rankings, 1978-1992:

1978 Hana Mandlikova (TCH)
1979 Mary-Lou Piatek (USA)
1980 Susan Mascarin (USA)
1981 Zina Garrison (USA)
1982 Gretchen Rush (USA)
1983 Pascale Paradis (FRA)
1984 Gabriela Sabatini (ARG)
1985 Laura Garrone (ITA)
1986 Patricia Tarabini (ARG)
1987 Natalia (Natasha) Zvereva (URS)
1988 Cristina Tessi (ARG)
1989 Florencia Labat (ARG)
1990 Karina Habsudova (TCH)
1991 Zdenka Malkova (TCH)
1992 Rossana De Los Rios (PAR)
--

I think the junior rankings probably began in about 1978. However, there was no better junior in the world in 1977 than Tracy Austin, of the United States, who didn't turn 15 until December 1977.

The above nicely compliments the information contained in this link: http://www.tennisforum.com/showthrea...41#post1806141
