Alicia in Strasbourg

I see Alicia's on the entry list for Strasbourg, so hopefully she's fit and well. Does anyone know for sure why she hasn't played in the last coupla weeks?

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

She was back in Melbourne the last I heard - resting over the clay season because she's been playing since January. I haven't heard anything about her being injured - I think she was just taking a break?

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Yeah, she's just been taking a break because she was away from home for 11 weeks straight, so she took a couple off. Good Luck lish!

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Kewl. She has played a fairly long stretch. Be nice to see her with batteries fully recharged in Strasbourg (and more importantly for the important seven week stint to follow.

Let's hope she gets a reasonable draw (or, refreshed, demolishes Mauresmo in the first round!)

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Smart of Lish to take a breather after playing so many events. hope it has done her some good & that she is prepared to take on the field in strasbourg. a 1st round win would satisfy me enough.

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Alicia Molik has been drawn to play a Qualifier/Lucky Loser in the first round of the Strasbourg International. Should she win, Alicia will most likely face 6th seed, Anabel Medina Garrigues, a tough player she beat in Indian Wells earlier this year.

ALL THE BEST LISH!!

That's the best possible draw that Alicia could receive! All though I know that the qualies will probably be really strong. AMG could be tough for Alicia to beat on clay.

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Anabel is in good form too... and clay is probably her best surface. good luck alicia ill be happy with a first round win at least too.. hopefully she has been working on that serve because her 1st serve percentage has let her down during some matches so far this year. good luck alicia!

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

lish has a good draw to reach the quarters medina garrigues will be tough but lish should do okay. I reckon all that rest & recovery for her should help to win a match or two in strasbourg.

Re: Alicia in Strasbourg

Yeah, pretty good draw for Alicia, just hope she doesn't face Casey in the first round, that'd suck.
