Alicia in Antwerp

cant wait to see alicia back on court! here is the entry list:
Main draw

Mauresmo, Amélie
Myskina, Anastasia
Williams, Venus
Petrova, Nadia
Molik, Alicia
Sprem, Karolina
Farina Elia, Silvia
Clijsters, Kim
Dechy, Nathalie (WC)
Maleeva, Magdalena
Golovin, Tatiana
Jankovic, Jelena
Pierce, Mary
Daniilidou, Eleni
Kostanic, Jelena
Benesova, Iveta
Medina Garrigues, Anabel
Camerin, Maria Elena
Safina, Dinara
Koukalova, Klara
Marrero, Marta
Chladkova, Denisa
Callens, Els (WC)
Dokic, Jelena (WC)

alicia will b seeded 4th here, so she should have a relatively easy run to the semis, which will do wonders for her ranking (might move her up to 8th or 9th depending on how venus goes). once she gets to the semis she would most likely face mauresmo, myskina or venus, 3 players she has beaten in the past year! good luck alicia!

even tho there is no kuzzy here, i hope she plays doubles bcos she is only 20 points away from the top 10!

Go the Aussies

Sophie Ferguson ~ Casey Dellacqua ~ Samantha Stosur ~ Jessica Moore ~ Christina Wheeler ~ Monique Adamczak ~

an ok field, alicia can beat everyone there but a few that could pose a couple of problems, players like clijsters, dechy, golovin maybe even pierce and safina or dokic if she ends the poor run. at the top of the entries i think venus is probably the biggest problem and alicia beat her in straight sets at the AO this year. very good chance for alicia to get another title and get a few more ranking points.

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

I just hope she isn't in the same draw as Kim Clijsters, Kim will definetely be very eager to win again in her own country... and like you said she is unseeded and will be a tough draw for any of the four seeds.

Argh....my three top faves in the same draw

Please don't let them be drawn in the same quarter or something stupid

imo clijsters isnt a threat, its her first event in ages and when she comes up against a quality opponent like alicia i dont think she'll be ready to win yet

Go the Aussies

true, alicia is certainly more match fit etc, but this is kim's home tourney etc and look what serena did at the AO after a bit of a layoff from tennis.

but saying that, kim may struggle to keep up with her opponents as they all did compete in the AO except for dokic.

I think Kim will be ready, she dropped Paris because she fully wanted to focus on this event. But on the other hand, Alicia in this form can beat anyone she proved that at the AO!

I don't think we shoud underestimate Kim, she is always going to be dangerous whatever shape she's in. As Bovina once said, she could beat most people one-handed

I doubt Dokic will be much of a threat. She just lost to Maria Santangelo in the first round at Hyderabad so I don't think she's found her form yet.

There's no one in the draw Alicia can't beat IMO, after all, she has beaten all of the four seeds ahead of her before

i totally agree with you, although dokic shouldnt be underestimated (in the off chance that she does find form)

I think Alicia will do really well. She's in great form at the moment. I think after her win against Venus at the AO she will be very confident if they meet again.

That would be a very interesting rematch if Venus and Alicia meet in the semis or even the final

After Alicia's straight sets win against Venus in their most recent encounter, I'm sthinking Venus might be up for some revenge... I don't think she knew what hit her when Alicia straight up kicked her ass
