Re: Hobart MD List

No one from the top 20, but a nice EL with a lot of depth... really could see just about anyone on the list take the title. Hopefully it'll be SCONE. :)

Re: Hobart MD List

All but these can win...

13. Diyas
14. Doi
15. Watson
16. Larsson
17. Cetkovska (SR)
18. Kovinic

How did you work that out? Four of them won WTA titles in 2015, and one of them is the defending champion. :silly:

Woz will play ;)

I am very excited for my 2016 season starting with my first tournament of 2016 WTA Hobart International and then The Australian Open

But how high is her SR?

108 is Wozniak's SR.

So qualies in Hobart and qualies or MD in A.O . If only King remains with her SR for AO, Wozniak will need "only" one withdrawal to make the MD.

Re: Hobart MD List

I just saw in the AO Race thread its 108, may be better for her play in AOQ!?
I guess if she starts in Hobart she may as well play A.O qualies with it unless she makes it too far Tasmania.

It's her decision. The other option would be to keep it for RG and Wimby to wait maybe she makes the MD in both of them or use it there for qualies.

Re: Hobart MD List

If my interpretations are a little weird, yours are extremely weird and also wrong IMO.

She completed a SR application form before signing up for Carlsbad qualies with it. You only have to complete that form that is specified there, ONCE ! :p

"where ranking points are awarded" is a general expression. Even if there would be a tournament that would grant the winner of the trophy 2 WTA Ranking points and 0 for the rest, that is a tournament where ranking points are awarded.
.

And to use your previous expression : "you seem to be forgetting" about qualifying entry lists / deadlines. WTA qualies entry lists are out 3 weeks before the tournament starts and ITF qualifying deadline is almost irrelevant. And she doesn't have to use it. Even if she competed in the following month in any ITF with a WC in qualifying, still can use the SR further. Just has to return to competition till the 2nd of January (IMO) or so but 1000% Antalya 10k (21-27 dec.) counts if the other doesn't . Isn't obligated to use her SR. I really don't get why you keep adding those days for a stupid written form that was already completed once.

Re: Hobart MD List

Hampton does not get into anything on the WTA without using her SR. Meaning it has to be confirmed before that. Do you see the schedule? If she were healthy enough to play, she'd have played in CARLSBAD. In order to preserve her SR to still not be able to use it in time (because then to enter WTA qualifying with her SR she has to do so FOUR weeks before), she'd had to have already returned to competition, because next week is too late.

In order to overall preserve her Sr, she can, theoretically, fly somewhere to one event in Italy, play in Turkey, Africa, or Asia by your reckoning and just slide into some 10K qualies, right? Which is totally likely considering it's way more convenient to fly to Nigeria and play than just to play in California.

Re: Hobart MD List

Three weeks before man . I don't know why you keep adding those days when it's not the case.

And it was purely theoretical what I said regarding going for an ITF who knows where. Of course it's not very convenient.

And again (purely theoretical): she could even ask for an MDWC or go for qualies in that Antalya 21-27 december or if my theory is correct, even a WC on the 1st of January 2016 for qualifying in Week 1 is OK.

So on the 2nd of January we'll know 1000% sure if she can return with a SR or not, at some point. I don't even care personally, I'm not a fan, just pointing out some things :p so further debate is pretty much unnecessary ATM , IMO.

Oh my god. Honestly? Can you not read? An unranked player cannot enter WTA qualifying. They made a rule that WTA members and associate members (doubles players) can enter singles qualifying, so Brie Whitehead and the like couldn't fly around the world getting bageled. In order to play a WTA EVENT SHE HAS TO USE HER SR. SO SINCE YOU CANNOT READ I'M GONNA THROW UP THIS PART OF THE RULES AGAIN.

All requests for use of a Special Ranking in WTA Tournaments
or ITF Women’s Circuit events must be made through WTA
Operations by the respective WTA entry deadline or at least
one (1) week prior to the entry deadline of an ITF Women’s
Circuit event. No requests after the entry deadlines will be
considered.

Therefore, she would need to use her SR to enter a WTA event of any kind. If that is qualifying, as you suggested, then unless you still don't understand what that paragraph means, FOR ALL EIGHT TOURNAMENTS A PLAYER USES HER SPECIAL RANKING SHE MUST NOTIFY THE WTA WITH THE REQUEST OF THE USE OF THE RANKING A WEEK BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE. MAIN DRAW=SIX WEEKS. SHE NEEDS TO TELL THE WTA SHE IS USING HER SR A WEEK BEFORE THAT, MAKING IT SEVEN. QUALIFYING=THREE WEEKS, EXCEPT SHE IS REQUIRED TO NOTIFY THE WTA SHE IS USING HER SR TO ENTER QUALIFYING A WEEK BEFOREHAND. THAT EQUALS FOUR WEEKS.

Put simply

6+1=7
3+1=4

You can't enter a WTA event unranked, even if half the qualifying draw is byes. Therefore she gets a WC or she plays using her SR, which if I have to repeat the rule again one more time just because you can't seem to add I'm gonna go crazy, so using her SR is officially out of the question.

Basic mathematics are not a debate. They are or they are not.

Re: Hobart MD List

Hampston still has time to enter Q so it's too early to talk about whether her SR is there or not.

Re: Hobart MD List

Maybe from 2 persons he will understand better  but I guess He'll just keep his (wrong) opinions, no matter what, @coolfish1103 . :)

Maybe a clear example might eliminate some of them though . Mihaela Buzarnescu last played an ITF in the 17-23 week of September 2012 .

She returned in the week of September 9-14 , 2014 with a WC in a 10k ITF and used her SR plain and simple 8 times after that (starting from 2015 btw) ....

Re: Hobart MD List

OK @Babolatpro880 . Now you can have a nicely and deserved place on my very short (containing 3 people now) Ignore list .

Not only that you responded without the smallest respect and using uncalled for words, cause I didn't care and kept responding you nicely , but to give me a Bad Rep for a " :p " smiley face well ... that did it .

You can argue with whoever you may like from now on with your imaginary theories, but from me it's goodbye for now :wavey: and I see @coolfish1103 also found your behaviour, uncalled for.

Bad rep for post #25 , from Babolatpro880 : "Do not give me some nasty little stick out your tongue crap,*"

being that Jorovic is now top 200 and will probably look to play somewhere down under before AO, can she still sign up for Q on the spot and be in thanks to her ranking, or will she be an ALT? (assuming withdrawals happen ofc)
