No Belgian women in round 3!

Don't want to bring it up again but it's still remarkable... I think it's been a while since no Belgian woman got beyond the 2nd round at a Grand Slam; it must at least be about 3 years ago! Hopefully this won't happen again for 3 years now Go Justine and Kim (and Els)! Good luck at Wimbledon!

It's been 4 years ago: in the 2000 French Open Dominique Van Roost and Els Callens lost in the second round, while Kim Clijsters and Sabine Appelmans lost their opening match. Justine Henin didn't play.

It's just the way it is (but good for all the belgian students who have exams )

Hopefully the belgian men can save RG for us

I put all my faith in Xavier now. And in any case, men's tennis is very interesting these days so I will watch the tourny till the end.

Anyway, there is a pattern in it so it looks very promising for next year:

2000: No Justine, Kim loses in the first round
2001: Justine & Kim in semi, Kim runner-up
2002: Justine out in 1st round, Kim in 3rd
2003: Justine & Kim in semi, and even in final, Kim runner-up, Justine winner
2004: No Kim, Justine loses in 2nd round
SO:
2005: Justine and Kim at least in the semi

Let's already try to get tickets for next year.

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

Without Kim & Justine, Belgian women's tennis is nothing these days
Where are days when we had 6 women in the slams...?

Let's hope we can have at least 4 soon
