Re: Who is your favorite Oscar's Best Actress of the last decade?
I'm glad you've seen the light, Helen.
So, what was the ending? Did she mortally wound herself to get the performance perfect and "let go" and was willing to die to do it? And coincidentally set herself free as is the story from the ballet. That's the most powerful ending, but given all the other things that were only in her head, it seems unlikely. Also, it's not realistic she did both Black Swan routines with that kind of wound and no one noticed and it didn't bleed out until the end. Lily would have gone to her at the end and not stood there, Lily truly liked her and was caring.
Or did she finally mentally collapse at the end, with the focus on her head in slow motion as she took the final leap, might tend to suggest she mentally lost it, and the commotion was she was unresponsive or something.
Or does it matter because either way, she nailed it, got it perfect, and that's what made it so powerful.
