Re: Jelena's Schedule?

i think Pattaya qualifying would be good if she keeps form.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

i think the best bet for jelena is to use her wildcards into the qualifying draws of tier III and tier IV events. She seems to play better when she is against higher quality players. If she could string together a few wins at these events here ranking would rise a lot faster than if she were to play on the itf circuit. I fear that if she returns to the ITF circuit she may fade off into the abyss once again.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Has anyone else noticed that most of the players Jelena has beaten at Hobart went on to win their 1st Round matches? Can't help but wish TA had given her a damn wildcard

I was thinking it as well. Shvedova won easily yesterday and Meusberger beat Granville in easy two. I am not convinced that Meusberger is a great player. She was very weak when I saw her against Mauresmo in Wimbly last year for the first time. Anyway she can win. But the situation that TA made I hope Jelena is still training right now.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Jelena didn't commit to any tournaments starting on 4th February, so if she won't be given a WC to Pattaya (or some challenger), then we'll probably see her playing next year

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Freaken, there is no point of commiting, because Jelena does not have wta ranking yet, and she does not have to be on entry list to get WC.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

And she doesn't have to be ranked to get into qualies of 25k (withou being given a WC)... I'm just saying that it's a bad sign...

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Well, obviously she wont play 25k qualis. Hopefully she will go to Pattya and do some damage there I am always optimistic.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Can someone contact the Pattaya organisers to see if she has asked for a WC?

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

I'm not going to, but I'm going to ring up the organizers of the Mildura ITF 25K and see if she'd contacted them at all. It's frustrating because there really isn't any way of knowing whether she'll continue playing or not. I'll be OVERLY EXTRAVAGANTLY IMMENSLY RELIEVED when I see her name in a main or qualifying draw.

When are you planning on doing that? Any info would be much appreciated obviously.

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

i wouldnt get your hopes up....i really dont think she is going to play a 25K itf. I have a strong feeling that she may wind up in pattaya. apparently she has practiced since loosing in AO qualifying so that makes me believe that she is serious about coming back. i certainly hope so

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

she's not on the list for mildura, so she isn't playing there (unless she gets a wildcard)

Re: Jelena's Schedule?

Too bad she doesn't have a "real" up to date website to let people know what's up.
