Re: Jelena's Schedule?
Let's forget about WHEN her ranking kicks in...but her potential rank IS important..
Otherwise, she's no hope of starting in the tournaments like Pattaya that Babblepro seems to be dreaming she is in..
Points from Hobart and AO would give her notional 475 (37 pts) which would only really get her into 10k or 25k events without the limited wild-card assistance (max of 3in MD, 3in Qual for both ITF and WTA events).
Even if she played and won both Berri/Mildura events, her ranking would only be around 290, still nowhere near good enough to make a serious attempt to get into WTA events on a regular basis.
Her best option might be to travel back to her European base to compete in $10-100k events in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium or Greece and build her points back up. The close proximity means she has alternatives if her ranking isn't good enough to get into her first preference.
These events run through until May - and if she has success in these events - quite a few on clay, she may well be able to move up to the WTA IVs in Estoril or Prague, which would be solid preparation for Roland Garros.
