Jelena to play for Croatia?!

Iva Majoli said she will call Jelena to play for Croatia-something like she is born in croatia, she lives in zagreb and should play for croatia.

Wasn't there a rule that says it takes 3 years to play for other country. That means 2007 for Croatia .

NO

Jankovic suffers from severe Chinese syndrome! Only God can help her!

No, Sportski Zurnal only published the information that originally appeared on a Slovenian website. Then they went on to discuss if that's true and then an article follows where they say Jelena's patriotism was never in doubt etc. I read that newspaper today.

Here is the website where it was originally posted.

Also makes me wonder - how on Earth would Slovenians know this before Croatians or Serbians?

Today in Sportski Zurnal:
They called Iva Majoli and she explained her words were taken out of context: she said that if one day she becomes the Fed Cup captain and Jelena expresses the desire to play for Croatia, she'd be welcome to do so. Nothing more than that.
Also, the Tennis Federation of Croatia knows nothing about it.

Where are U Jelena ?
