5 most anticipated matches w/o TOP 16 seeds

mine, tell me about yours, then i'll tally....

5. Elena Bovina (RUS) [21] vs Saori Obata (JPN)
Elena is 0-2 on grass, and she is up against probably
the best grass player outside TOP 50 along with Asagoe,

4. Fabiola Zuluaga (COL) vs Clarisa Fernandez (ARG)
high quality clay match, but how will it be on grass....

3. Dinara Safina (RUS) vs Alicia Molik (AUS)
Alicia was the best grass player couple of years ago,
and she is taking on 2nd youngest TOP 100 Russian,
talented not to say......

2. Maria Sharapova (RUS) [WC] vs Ashley Harkleroad (USA)
match featuring 2 young prospects symbolizing
the battle b/w Russian and American prospects

1. Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) [33] vs Bea Bielik (USA) [Q]
one of the best double's player taking on big serve NCAA Champ,

Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) [33] vs Bea Bielik (USA) [Q] -- I agree this will surely be an interesting match -- I hope Sveta can win it!

i think stosur vs. davenport will be good
capriati vs. casanova
henin vs. vakulenko (from what i've heard vakulenko has a big game and lots of weapons and grass helps a big game so the match could be quite tight)
dokic vs. baltacha

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

Gowza - they were all top 16 seeds - we were looking for non-top 16 seeds!

Eleni Daniilidou, Amelie Mauresmo, Alicia Molik, Samantha Stosur and Mary Pierce to kick ass 2006

sorry i thought you wanted top 16 seeds.

ok then let me see...
for me it would be:

perebiynis vs. strycova
schett vs. marrero (potentially a very high quality match)
sprem vs. benesova (also could be a very high quality match)
irvin vs. mikaelian
safina vs. molik
cohen aloro vs. gagliardi
sharapova vs. harkleroad
obata vs. bovina
stevenson vs loit
kuznetsova vs. bielik
gullickson vs tulyaganova
mandula vs. schnyder

i can't pick 5 matches but i can pick 6:

sharapova vs. harkleroad
safina vs. molik
perebiynis vs. strycova
irvin vs. mikaelian
kuznetsova vs. bielik
gullickson vs tulyaganova

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

The Reeves-Pistolesi match should be good. They played twice last yeat on clay and split the matches. Both were tight and went the distance. The first was in Amelia Island which was won by Sammy. The second in Madrid which was won by Anna. I think Sammy could upset being that this is a faster surface and it could hurt Anna because she is a big clay-courter. I think that the surface could help Sammy also because she goes for quite a lot. I really do think this match is up in the air and could be quite interesting. GO SAMMY!
