maria can get in with her own ranking, but when the deadline for signing up was, she wasn't able to, but now she is, but she still needs a WC now

i'm more inclined to believe that
she's trying not to "waste" a WC here,
coz she knows there must be more than 2 players
bound to withdraw after knowing that
her ranking should be ranked high enough
after beating Elena........

Maria still shouldn't be getting a wildcard into this event. It just shows you that press is everything.
