Hi tyk101!!

I've never actually been to this tournament, but going by other events in England.......yes, it should be alright to use a digital camera, yes, they probably do have food there - but it's cheaper to bring your own with you! And yes, I would think that it's ok to take a rucksack with you!!!
As for the finishing time though, I haven't a clue....possibly around 7pm (?) but, I'm not sure!

Have a great time!!!!

tyk101,

I have been a number of times and Elisse is right I take a rucksack everytime, I also take a camara (the last few times I took an SLR camara but this time I will take the digital Camara that I have for my birthday ).

The only food I remember seeing were some catering vans ie. burger stands etc - not sure if there is a healthier option.....they are quite expensive though. If it is nice weather, there is an ice cream van.

I alway take my own food - it's better that way because you don't have to move from the court to get your food LOL

Bye for now

I don't know They should do - when did you send them off? Maybe you should ring the box office up and say that you haven't received them and will they come on time.

Other than that I can only suggest that you pay on the door like I could be doing this year.

Hope you have a great time there as I did when I went for the first time!

As far as I'm aware Boiled Egg, there are absolutely no trains until September going through Stoke. When I go to Wimbledon I have got to get a bus from Stoke to Stafford (or Crewe). I don't even think there is a Sunday run because they are replacing all of the track.

When I want to get a train somewhere it is putting an extra hour onto my journies! It's an inconvenience living in Stoke because I'm stuck in the middle of it all

Hi Jon,

I don't think Eggy does - the train to Birmingham usually goes through Stoke, I think he just wanted to know if the train would be re-routed.

I live in Stoke though - I just completed my third year at Staffs Uni (if that's the one you went to - or did you go Keele?). What did you study?

Hi Rachel

I went to Keele, where I studied International relations. Ah, them were the days, stuck on the top of that windy hill!

Did you move there for uni, or are you a lifelong Stokette? (And do you say 'duck' at the end of all sentences yet?)

Hi Jon,

I have lived in stoke all my life.....and I'm one of the few who doesn't say "duck" to everyone all the time LOL I do usually use it towards young children though....."duck" or sometimes "duckie" LOL I've never used it towards 'older' people though.

Did you get into the habit of calling people 'duck' or 'love' then?

I can't believe there is someone on this board that has lived in Stoke....it's a little bit surreal LOL - it's good to chat with you

And you!

I lived for a year in Etruria, right near Valentinos (?)nightclub. I just got all nostalgic and went to look at a Stoke website. Can you believe it goes on and on about Anthea Turner being from Stoke and theres not even a passing mention of Robbie Williams

Really?! Anthea Turner! I can't beleive that - surely Robbie is far more famous!? I have never actually been on the Stoke website - I suppose it's more for those tourists who want to find out about local culture ie. pottery etc.

It shows it was a few years since you lived in Stoke - Valentino's is now called Creation.

Did you complete your Uni course? You just said that you lived there for a year? Are you from Switzerland or did you just move there?

Sorry about all these questions, I'm just interested

lol @ Anthea Turner being used in the same sentence as 'local culture'

Yeah, I finished my degree in `98. By the final year I was living in Manchester as I'm a bit too much of a city person...plus I travelling every weekend to go out there, and I'd got a job in a club, so it was a logical step. Didnt stay there too long though, moved to London that summer for two years, and then two in Barcelona and now I'm here in Switzerland...I get around a bit

So what are your plans now you've finished your studies?
