Following these tracks in 1950 thread...

The NYT reports that "Mrs Caroll, former Viennese net star who came to the US about 11 years ago, utilized her good western grip forehand to excellent advantage and kept Mrs Ganzenmuller on the defensive most of the way."

The height of her US playing career was from 1949 to 1952, when she won the Eastern US Clay title for four years running. The NYT described her as "a slightly built, blue-eyed woman who possesses a mighty forehand."
I have found confirmation that Elfriede "Elfi" von Kriegs-Au went to USA and married a Mr Carroll. She was born in 1915.

But I am not still sure if she was this woman:

or this woman that at last lived in Florida:

Both were born in 1915, and maybe they are the same person.
Rollo, if you have access to some American names database, can you check please?

In the meantime we can fix this:

Austria / United States
Born 1915
Married Carroll, after 1939

Knowing her year of birth, now we can also differentiate her tennis results from her mother's results. Her mother was Tilda von Kriegs-Au (we don't known her maiden name).
