Re: Ana Konjuh

WTF happened in this match !?!?!

Ana was 2-1 up and then Tara won next 9 games ! And then Tara had 4-1 40-30 and Ana turned that into 5-6 lead. Too bad about last game before TB

Bad loss, but still very proud because of great fight towards the end

Re: Ana Konjuh

I'm a little bit dissapointed...I'm like that every time when my favorite beat much tougher and difficult opponent and then loss in next round...Oh well, I'm sad Ana spent too much energy in the qualies...hope she will overtake them soon.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Donna's ranked Top100. Ana>>>>>Donna in almost every aspect. In a year I'm pretty sure Ana would beat Donna quite convincingly.

If she stays healthy and injury free, I see her easily breaking into the Top100 by the end of 2014.

Great fight today.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Although on paper this was a great chance for the next round, you can't but empathise with her on this. She played five matches in as many days, four of which went into a decider, and all that after healing and injury and missing practice time. No wonder she lost seemingly unexpectedly. But I'm afraid she might very well have to go through qualies again in Limoges as she is 6th on the quali list and it's Thursday already. Although she could probably use qualies at this point, cause her game, particularly the serve, needs work and she'd at least be almost certain to pick a few points. It'll all again depend on the draw, but if the elbow isn't bothering her, I'd say she can do at least this good in the next event. Now a well deserved rest for her

With any luck she should get into MD
Still, given how average she was in Qualies last week, a few matches against lower or unranked opponents is surely not bad and 6 additional points do no harm

It's a shame though that she isn't playing Doubles really any more even though Vrjlic is playing here still

Re: Ana Konjuh

On the other hand, playing (so much) in qualies cost her losing to Moore.

Yes, but it probably wouldn't if her form were better and she took care of at least one more quali opponent in straights.

Yeah I think the match with Van Uytvanck cost her more than some Qualies wins
I think you are overestimating how much effort she was spending A match a day is not that hard to manage (I play ITF Juniors) compared to tournaments I am sure she played as a child where she was playing 3 or even 4 matches a day If anything it was just von Deichmann I think this was just a typical case of big win let-down, which we have to forgive her for given her age and experience level along with the fact that she seems to feel a little isolated a the tournaments Who does she travel with at these tournaments BTW?

Agree and playing against a rested opponent didn't help.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Well, at least she played some matches in JLT so even if she goes directly into Limoges MD it won't be a complete disaster.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Btw, entering doubles (if at all possible) in Limoges doesn't seem like a bad idea. Especially if she reaches MD directly, cause with her skills and a solid partner that could mean some extra matches that don't take away too much on the physical part.
