As much as talented she is, as much as good she is, she is not machine and from other world. She is still just a child, that is growing and developing. When you are child, oscillations are much more often from this reasons (developing of body). Especially when you have aggressive style like Ana has. So, nothing to worry about. + Not to mention that her opponent maybe practiced hard and improved a lot now. Or just was inspired at moments today. It can be a zillion of reasons for such result. In the end, Ana won and just that matters!
I understand the surprise Arcangioli has been in hopeless form (I don't know how many matches she has lost in a row ) and lost to the likes of Lim who Ana can beat 0 and 2 The fact that Ana had previously dominated her and let her in when she has had a break and should be excited to return surprises me too

It doesn't mean we set our expectations too high we simply were not anticipating this

Re: Ana Konjuh

Well, Ana was struggling to beat Ostapenko in R1 of US Open. And later on she dominated to reach a final (against much better opponents) where she again struggled but managed to win.

Winning despite not playing at one's best is the mark of a champion.

Re: Ana Konjuh

That Oceane girl, about which I joked how it'd be cool if Ana would play her after beating Tornado - she's leading Orlova (herself former #224) 6:0, 4:0 at the moment in QR2. I should be more careful about what I wish and joke about...

Btw, matches today are going rather slow in JLT, so Ana probably won't be on court until around 3 PM.

It's OK she'll probably win in 2 seconds

Re: Ana Konjuh

While Ana is playing qualifications of Europe 50k, Belinda Bencic stays in Japan on one more WTA tournament. This time in Osaka. And made it to the last round of qualifications after beating 4th seed Minella, 6-3 6-2! I hope Ana will not wait too long to start playing on WTA!

Re: Ana Konjuh

I don't think we'll wait too long for that, but Ana is probably sticking by the ITF tour because of that injury time out she had this year, which did derail her plans slightly and surely delayed her development. I'm pretty confident she'll be playing some WTA's within six months at the latest.

I am pretty sure Ana would double bagel Minella
She'll be there soon

Re: Ana Konjuh

Kerkhove just won her match, I think Ana is next on that court.

Ajmo Anci, good luck!

Ana's match taken down from the ITF live scores... Just hope it's not an injury again
