No, it's OK--we understand

But it's "countrywoman"

Re: Ana Konjuh

Ana also won her R1 doubles match:

Ana KONJUH (CRO) / Adrijana LEKAJ (CRO) 6-1 6-1 Anna DAVYDOVA (RUS) / Eleonora MINDIYAROVA (RUS)

That means that next week she'll be the #2 Croatian junior, ahead of Vekic and behind only Mekovec.

Re: Ana Konjuh

She'll be Croatian #1 in no time. Ilka became the best ranked countrywoman of mine a year ago, but did nothing relevant since then

Re: Ana Konjuh

In the SF Ana plays M. Gonzalez (#13, CH #5). I'm guessing she's easily Ana's toughest opponent of her career?

It'll be interesting to see how Ana does. Good luck!

Regardless, it has been a very successful tournament for Ana. She'll move up to a new CH in the rankings ~60-65

Ana is one of my bets for the future, so I'm not such sad about Ilka's loss
Montserrat should be too good even for this in form Ana, but, god dammit, Ana is more than capable to surprise us again

OMG
I just can't believe it. I knew Ana was good, but not that good. Montse is 3 years and a half older, #13 now, #5 career high, clay specialist...
That's what I've posted on the tournament thread. No more words to add...

Re: Ana Konjuh

Ana defeats Barty after losing the first set 4-6 and leading 5-2 in the second, when Ash retired.
Close match, Ana played really well She delivered some beautiful dropshots and a few strong groundstrokes. Also, her serve looks very powerful. Also, in the middle of the first set Ana had an impressive string of at least 10 (maybe more) consecutive points.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Ana would probably be a contender at RG. Too bad her ranking wasn't high enough when the entry list came out

ugh, why do they all suck????????

She is going to play Trofeo Bonfiglio in Italy next week (she is in MD) and is on alternative list for RG so maybe she will get in.

Re: Ana Konjuh

Yeah, why not.. She proved herself in this match. She could've been a strong contender at RG. But she's playing Trofeo Bonfiglio next week and I think she is good enough to make the last rounds if the draw is ok. Stamina is a strength of hers and I don't think she'll get tired.
This G1 win gets her to top 50 in juniors Two months ago she was outside the top 300...
