Ok guys I followed this girls developement for quite a few months now.
Last month she won the European Junior Championships, Pilzen for girls under 14.

Other success she had this year:
Winner of G16 Junior Croatia Open, Cakovec
Winner of G14 Mladost Grill Open, Zagreb
Winner of G16 Kvarner Open, Rijeka
Also reaching a G16 final in AvignonFR and a couple of SFs.

This year she has a win-loss record of 48-7 currently. With those 4 titles.
She seems to be highly talented, there´s a lot of potential, hope she´s not going to fade away and go her way.

People might say it´s too early for a thread but after twinning the European Championchips I though she would deserve a own thread.

Ana leads 3-1 in third and serves! Come on Anci! :bounce:

Wins the third to 3 but I really don't know why she needed all of this so early in the tournament. Got broken 5 times today, I mean really... But yes, a win is a win and tomorrow is another day and all that. Let's hope tomorrow brings something better and more convincing :)

And I mean, she is still nominally child, but really. So, please stop with so such high expectations from Ana not in every match, but now seems in every set! :help: (saying in best attention :yeah: )

From Ana's web:

Ana has returned to the court. She missed the tournament in Spain (Sevilla, prize money of 25,000 U.S. dollars) due to slight inflammation of the tendon on her right hand, and didn’t train for several days. However the injury has cleared up and she had no problems travelling to France where she plans to play in two competitions.

No, I'm not frustrated about it, more like surprised as chingching guessed - looking at the stats one would expect a more convincing result from someone of Ana's capabilities. Besides, I think she is her own biggest critic so doesn't matter what I babble about online.

However, now that I've read she had a tendon problem and missed some practice sessions, I have to say I understand a bit more what happened out there today and I take this result as a valid one. My expectations have just gone down (only slightly, but still...).

And, it also says two competitions while we know she has signed up into three... Guess we'll have to wait and see what's that all about.

Well, Ana was struggling to beat Ostapenko in R1 of US Open. And later on she dominated to reach a final (against much better opponents) where she again struggled but managed to win. ;)

That Oceane girl, about which I joked how it'd be cool if Ana would play her after beating Tornado - she's leading Orlova (herself former #224) 6:0, 4:0 at the moment in QR2. I should be more careful about what I wish and joke about...

Btw, matches today are going rather slow in JLT, so Ana probably won't be on court until around 3 PM.

While Ana is playing qualifications of Europe 50k, Belinda Bencic stays in Japan on one more WTA tournament. This time in Osaka. And made it to the last round of qualifications after beating 4th seed Minella, 6-3 6-2! I hope Ana will not wait too long to start playing on WTA!

I don't think we'll wait too long for that, but Ana is probably sticking by the ITF tour because of that injury time out she had this year, which did derail her plans slightly and surely delayed her development. I'm pretty confident she'll be playing some WTA's within six months at the latest.

MD is out, and it wont be easy for qualifiers

If Ana def. Kathinka (and she should), possible opponents in first round are:
- first seed Putintseva
- second seed Cabeza Candela
- sixth seed Van Uytvanck
- Stephanie Dubois

Putintseva was injured and she is back after 3 months break, CC is clay court player and she is not so good on HC, Dubois is average this year. Van Uytvanck is in very good form and I would like Ana to avoide her. Dubois is probably best draw.

No doubles for Ana here.
