Re: The Amazing and Remarkable Monica Niculescu

I watched Pavlyuchenkova's quarterfinal match against Lauren Davis. Lauren seemed to be struggling with an injury that was affecting her movement and did not play well and yet she was still able to be competitive. Nastya's play ranged from okayish to awful (yes, awful...at one point she lost 10+ points in a row almost all of them with bad errors).

Bookmakers have Monica the favourite to win this match despite her lower ranking and the H2H. I would say, given how both are playing, they have good reason for this. It's true Monica isn't playing her very best but Nastya isn't even close. She has benefited from a very easy draw whereas Monica has beaten some decent players. I'm expecting Monica to win this.

Hope you're right and Monica makes a second final in just a month

Aside from a qualifying match in 2011, so was Babos (7-0) until she faced Monica. Hopefully by tonight Monica will have defeated the Monterrey champs from 2010 to 2012 inclusively.

Well done Moni She is in a better form than Pavly, so she should be able to win this one.

Andrea Petkovic - Sara Errani - Jarka Gajdosova - Alizé Cornet

It's going nicely. Monica is playing better than her last two matches and Nastya is playing as badly as she did yesterday.

Re: The Amazing and Remarkable Monica Niculescu

Nastya is just all over the place. Funny enough because she possesses the angels on her forehand side to get Monica out of position without going for too much. However, she decides to do the actual opposite so far.

This is Monica's to win.

Monica has lost the plot a bit now and Nastya is playing better too. Hopefully she can get back on track quickly.

Maria is actually playing very smart tennis these days. Much more than a couple of years ago. Both girls will be tough in the final. But 1st let's get to the final.

Re: The Amazing and Remarkable Monica Niculescu

Awful second set, no length on her shots making it easy for her opponent.

I hope she can bounce back.

Re: The Amazing and Remarkable Monica Niculescu

At 3-0 in the first set Monica should have put the racket down and call it a match.
