Re: Pliskova Twins Cheering Thread

I'm probably wrong but here is my impression.

Before Cincinnati and the US OPEN I thought that Jiri Vanek did not bring so much to Karolina, except, sometimes, by cheering her up during the on-court coaching.
I found that she was often tactically badly prepared for his matches.
After these two tournaments my opinion changed a little bit, I thought that he rather made a good job.
But she especially worked very hard physically during the olympics and it's this work which made the difference.
We shall see.

Re: Pliskova Twins Cheering Thread

Yeah, I'm not too encouraged by this coaching split, either. Kaja had some incredible highs this year, though somewhat middling before the grass "season." Her Cincy and US Open runs were spectacular. And she was oh-so close to a Grand Slam singles title, as well...but time to move forward. She knows by now how and when she is most successful, so I hope a change in coach won't be detrimental. I've seen some mention David Kotyza as a possibility; now that would be something. (I approve)

edit: By the way, should we all start using the "Karolina Pliskova" thread for 2017 onwards, and make a new thread for Kristyna? Kris will definitely play more WTA main-draw tournaments given her ranking now, and it could get messy if both are discussed in this thread.

I understand they draw people's attention at first place because they are identical sisters and probably the prettiest identical twins in the world. But with their ranking-rise and all these different tournaments, opponents, results, news, this thread become inefficient when you only want to follow one.

Apparently, Karolina has more fans because of her tennis, and we can feel Kristyna is also improving especially lately. But this thread feels like waiting for Kris to chase up Karolina so that they can play doubles together and make a pair of dreamy twins team. Of course, it will be great and as close sisters, they probably want it too.

But come on, they are different individuals. I don't get why this thread hasn't been separated when there is a huge gap between their rankings since like 2 years ago? They even couldn't play doubles together. And also, Karolina's doubles ranking soared up since she changed her partner last year

As they apparently put singles ahead of doubles and they are not Bryan brothers who only play doubles. I think we should stop putting them together.

We can keep the already exsisting threads here and add two subforums under this Pliskova forum respectively dedicated to Kristyna and Karolina. I don't think this is hard but I'm not allowed to open new threads...
repost all these^

If they both make it to Top 10 in singles one day, are you gonna keep tying them together?
the real sadness about identical twins.

Re: Pliskova Twins Cheering Thread

Let's go back to old thread, there is enough space according to what I see.

My feelings about Kristyna's tournament in Prague.

I saw three of her matches.
During the match against Haddad Maia she was really nervous.
She did a lot of easy mistakes in return of serve . And she lost most of the long rallies.
But she stayed positive and managed to win.

She played well against Ostapenko and especially she served very well. In this match she didn't show signs of nervousness.

During the final, Kristyna played well in the first and de second set, until she broke Barthel's serve at 4-3. After that she couldn't win her own serve and then she started to lose her momentum and to make many mistakes.

Why ? Perhaps the feeling she could win the most important tournament for now in her career or the feeling she had made the toughest by breaking Barthel.

So overall, a really good tournament from Kristyna.

POJD Kristyna !
