Re: Elina Svitolina Cheering Thread!
There didnt seem to be that much difference between both players. They seemed to hit with about the same power and neither was all that aggressive. Elina does everything solidly without having a standout weapon, although the backhand seems to be a bit more consistent. Her serve was not huge, she seems to often go for offspeed serves and try to place them. She's not blowing anyone off the court, but would have had a chance to beat some top 100 players with a better draw. She looks quite strong, so she should be able to add some power to her game.
Angie didnt look all that dominant, maybe she is starting slowly, but she looked happy to rally and wait for the error, which usually came. She was sort of playing like she did against Puig, so will have to play better in the next matches. Elina started the second set off well 2-0 and should have held for 3-0. After that, it was quite even, but she made few more unforced errors, some ill-advised shots and some shots just clipping the net. With a bit more experience, she could have made a three setter at least, but really she was expected to lose that match. She should win some matches on WTA tour now.
