I can't believe there wasn't a thread for one of Ukraine's rising stars.

She's born on 12 September 1994. She's the reigning junior Roland Garros Champion and has been the ranked number 1 on the ITF circuit. On the professional tour, she has also made the finals of a 25K losing to another talented teenager, Lyuda Kichenok. Her highest WTA ranking is 548.

Let's all cheer for her as she rises up the rankings soon and be a real star on the WTA tour!

Elina !!!

Next up is Lepchenko, who blew past Lucic today and
looks to be in pretty good form lately; its gonna be
a tough one but she can do this, especially given tht
she'll have a couple days off.

Elina loses :bigcry:

Elina had her 5-1 in the tiebreaker-- and from that point she
completely fell apart. Lets remember that she is an 18yo girl
on a really big stage. She needs to get tougher mentally and
fight thru these teenage emotions.

It was nice that she was more competitive here than in the leadup events. Losing to Falconi :help: She hasnt had a good result since beating the Canadian star Eugenie "Genie" Bouchard at IW, who has since got a lot more aggressive. The points will help a lot. She did well to keep breaking back in the first set. In the second set I would have liked to see her hitting totally to the backhand because the opponent's forehand was going well and you could see her running around everything to try to hit a fh. She seems to have slightly modified the service action but could add a lot of power to it.
