Who is your "sentimental" favorite for RG 2003?

I'll start. As it has been for past four years, my
sentimental favorite is Amelie Mauresmo. Why?
Well...because there's hasn't been a native *French champion
on the women's side for decades!!! And because on
a given day, on a given tournament, especially on red
dirt Amelie is the best in the world.

I think a second "French" speaker could be ok too-
mainly one Justine H-H. From that day back in yesteryear
when she had the match on her stick in taking out Lindsay
Davenport at RG as a teenager in an early round on her
debut in Paris, hasn't it seem to just be an omen?

*Mary Pierce doesn't count.

Monica because she is always the sentimental favourite in my book, and Lindsay because that would make her career grand slam!

I'd love to see Amelie win too but she has many good years left in her.

Conchita Martínez is my sentimental favourite, She must win Roland Garros

I agree on that with Lolaito, it's very unfair that Conchi's GS is Wimby and she doesn't have any RG

Conchi is my sentimental favourite. Looking back at her clay court record, she should have won it at some point by now

Anyone outside the top 20. I would like an "unknown" to take the entire event.

to be honest I'd like to see the obvious: Monica Seles, Amelie Mauresmo or Mary Pierce again... Truly - I'd love to see Eleni Daniilidou or Alicia Molik or Iroda Tulyaganova win it though

Justine Henin, obviously...but Monica Seles and Conchita too...maybe Mary Pierce, but that's not even being realistic

(1/20/17) Just discovered this gem in my private messages from 2006:
Who is Rtael?
This guy Rtael ,brainless and ignorant, is one of the most obnoxious, arrogant and coward guys whos has been a pest in this forum for years now.Given the new anti-bully policy he'll probably be expelled soon. Observe how he tries to rally and gang others against you. Mean people like him shouldn't be allowed here. And all because he "doesn't like your attitude"!!

Jen or Iva!

Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls"

Kim: to avenge that loss in 2001
Justine: because she would so much like to win this because of her mom.
Monica: because I grant her another slam (but that would be a tough one)
Conchita: because it is incredible that she won Wimbledon and not Roland Garros

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

When I saw the subject in this heading... without a doubt I immediately thought Conchita... It would be nice to see her win Roland Garros....
Justine would be a second choice...
