I thought Caro would win this easy, but watching the match you can see how far her game has fallen. Sveta was for the most part a mess and nothing like the player that lost to Caro twice at the us open in 3 sets, yet she won.
Caro was having so much trouble dealing with the heat making the ball rear off the court, add that to sveta's spin and Caro spent all match fumbling forehands.
If Caro keeps up this type of tennis she will be lucky to hold on to a top 30 place by year end.
I'm not sold on Sveta being back!!!!!!111!!!111!!1 yet, I wanna see her against Kerber first. Her losing sets to nobodies in qualies and losing to Kiki last week still aren't great signs. Still she must be happy with this week and hopefully she builds on it.
So many errors from Wozniacki, Piotr must be exploding as we speak. She really is lost game-wise. Surprising to see Kuznetsova maintain some form throughout a longish match.
Sveta :yeah: Finally overcoming Caro
4th three-setter in 5 days! I guess she will be totally spent against. Angie, but an encouraging tourney. nontheless.
I also noticed Piotr was much calmer today when coaching Caro on court. I think last weeks 6 minute coaching rant and it being not well received by the public to say the least has probably got back to the Caro camp.
I've said it before: I bet this is Caroline's final year on Tour before a permanent or at least 2 year break. To lose to Sveta like that is NOT a good omen for the rest of the year.
It's just over for her, she had a good run and is a massive overachiever but the jig's up at this point. Time to quit tennis and be Rory's trophy wife.
Sadly this was an expected loss, i didn't see the match, so maybe i am wrong, but i definitely believe that Caro is back to her messy self of last summer-spring when didn't really know what to do on court and when to be aggressive and when not.
Honestly i believe that this will just be her standard from now on if piotr won't leave
