It's so strange to see Alicia playing this tournament instead Amelia Island Because this week, she is in America then next week, she have to fly over Europe! However, it's red clay so, good for her for preparing in the Fed Cup!

Inspiration is for amateurs

Faves: Mona Barthel / Samantha Stosur / Roberta Vinci

Alx i think it is a very smart move for alicia to play budapest she will benefit from the practice on the slower red clay and come out the week after and flog the spanish team off the court.

Who will she play doubles with. I hope she plays with Trudi Musgrave

But honestly Amelia Island would be a better opportunity to claim some big pts, but I guess a title here is guarenteed

Alicia won her first round match. The score was 6-1, 6-0 I believe.

Yeah, she beat Sucha convincingly!!!

I'm kind of glad that Alicia is already in Europe. It allows her to get acclimatised to the continent for the european season. Also, she's there, playing on those clay courts...and doing a fantastic job so far! Well done!

Also, Budapest will allow her to focus and gain some confidence. I'd rather her play well and build confidence for the rest of the season as opposed to go to Amelia Island and possibly struggle. Another title would be nice. But right now...just want her to get another strong win in the next round!!!!

GO ALICIA!!!!
