So it's gonna be tough for Vika to even reach the final here unless Serena starts off rusty or simply doesn't care too much. The most important thing is to get some match practice for the AO which should still be possible with this draw. And I hope we'll see Vika - Caro in the QF
Vika was pretty bad even though she said she player well  she also said she should have practised a bit before the match and she was a bit surprised with the surface
About the Brisbane tournament...if Sabine Lisicki and Lucie Safarova play their match on Monday, 31 December 2012, then Vika will play her second round match on Tuesday, 1 January 2013...right? http://www.brisbaneinternational.com.au/draws-order-of-play
In Brisbane we should see more serious tennis after those exhos.
:spit: Another Serena/Victoria in the SF [...] surprising (?) that said, a great opportunity IMO for Victoria to get a win on Serena in a "meaningless" event, if the American doesn't do her usual flopping outside of majors. They meet so much in 'big' events and matches, Serena needs to at least do well in one of these 'MMs' she doesn't care about -- who knows.
finally an opportunity for prime Victoria to trash Wozniacki, I've been eternally waiting for this match up -- hopefully Victoria will be in rhythm by the time.
Well if she's going to have a fair shot at Serena, it'll be in a non-slam tournament.
I'm curious to how she'll handle Caro considering their "rivalry". Vika shouldn't have any problems with her, but still there's mental crap there.

She really wasn't playing well for most of the first set (bit rusty I guess) but the second set was quite good imo. She then played a sloppy first set-like TB for whatever reason. If she can start in Brisbane like she's played in the second set I think she should be OK for her first round. It looks like finding rhythm is the most important thing for her right now.
I still have no idea as to what would ensue if/when Vika plays Woz, I always think that it would turn out similar like every Radwanska match but then the gut feeling is that it'd be different.
